Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen and greetings in the name of Jesus.

My name is David Stamp and at the last Deanery meeting in Sept I agreed to be the interim chair due the then current chairperson's illness. I attend St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Copper Cliff. I have met many of you at various Deanery and synod meetings. I am new to the Diocese and the Anglican church since about 2001. I attended various Baptist churches since I was 15. I decided to ask Jesus to be my Saviour and Lord at age 16 and was pastor in several Baptist churches after graduating with an MDiv degree in 1978 - that makes me 60 years old this year. I am married to a wonderful woman who is also active at St. John's. In addition to various bits of the ministry in the Parish , my wife and I are Synod Delegates until vestry in Jan 2009. I look forward to serving you as interim chair.

Please note that our next Deanery meeting will be the first Saturday in May, May 2, 2009 at 9 AM. (Synod has been rescheduled to Oct 2009 and the weather should be much better then than now.) The place where we will meet is still to be determined I believe unless we agreed to a place at the last meeting which I cannot remember doing. Agenda items will include the usual reports plus elections of officers, including at least one Lay Steward and Youth Delegates to Synod. This latter item is very important as we need to have Youth Delegates in place three months prior to Synod.

Finally, to the Lay Delegates to Synod, 9(and Pastors if you could pass this message onto to them I would appreciate it), if you did not know it: you are members of and can attend Deanery meetings. I did not find this out until my second term as Lay Delegate.

If you could all send me email or Postal addresses of anyone you think could be attending Deanery, that would be helpful. Email is going to be a primary way I keep in touch, although I will need mailing addresses and phone numbers too.
