“Maundy Thursday” gets its name from the Latin word ‘mandare‘, from which we get the word ‘command’. Christians remember Jesus’s command: “Love one another as I have loved you.” This is the day when Christians remember Jesus sharing the Last Supper with his disciples before his death on Good Friday. We invite you to join us at the services listed below.
6:30: St. John the Divine, Copper Cliff: Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Altar (no service at Christ Church, Lively – you are invited to join us at St John the Divine for a joint service – potluck dinner at 5:00 p.m. precedes the service)
7:00 p.m.:
Church of the Ascension, Sudbury. Holy Eucharist, Foot-washing and Stripping of the Altar
